Found in the dry hills of the Nzelele mountains, the roots are a light in color due to the lack of soil on the face of the mountains the roots have no pigment and thus are pure white with alight brown skin on the surface of the roots

Securidaca longipedunculata (violet tree, Afrikaans: krinkhout, Bambara: satene, Tswana: mmaba, Venda: mpesu) is a species of tree in the genus Securidaca. It is most commonly found in the tropical and subtropical areas of Africa, and it was given protected status in South Africa.
